Insurance

Foreign Student Group Insurance

  • - Students who are applying for the regular Korean Language Program of Chung-Ang University Institute of Language Education, must be insured in an insurance.
  • - If you are going to get insured in a health insurance from your home country, make sure the insurance covers all of the medical fees abroad and this has to be mentioned in the insurance policy as well. After the insurance policy review, if it is determined that it could not be recognized, you must apply for Chung-Ang Univ. foreign student insurance.

Subject All language trainees who entered regular course of our institute
Subscription Period Until 7 months from the very first term class opening date
Way to Subscribe It is notified separately to freshmen every term.
Insurance Fee 60,000 ~ 70,000 KRW (The fixed amount will be announced before the start of the semester.)
Insurance Usage Procedure
  • Pay all of the medical expenses first → Claim for insurance to the insurance company
  • Insurance company pays insurance premiums after document review. (Depending on the claim details, insurance premiums may not be paid. Please refer to the insurance company's website for related information.)

  1. Claim report(Download on website)
  2. Receipt of treatment(not credit card receipt)
  3. Detailed statement of medical expenses
  4. Copy of your alien registration card
  5. Copy of your bank book

National Health Insurance

National Health Insurance
Subject Those who have language training visa (D-4-1) and have been staying in Korea for six months
Subscription Procedure

No action is required from students, as they are automatically subscribed to health insurance by the NHIS.

Insurance bill will be sent to your address in Korea in 6 months after your arrival.
Monthly Contributions About 60,000 KRW/per month (Fee is subject to change every year)
Payment Deadline The contribution for the next month is due by the 25th of the current month(prepayment)

According to Article 109 of the National Health Insurance Act, you can subscribe to the National Health Insurance only if you have completed the registration of foreigners. You are NOT eligible to enroll in the National Health Insurance until you register for foreigners after entering the country.
